A wild deadline appeared!

  Howdy everyone!

As the last semester of your high school career begins to wrap up, I'm sure that for many of you, college is never too far from your mind. Here are some things to consider as time marches on...

  1. Have you taken your ACT/SAT? If you're interested in bumping up your score or haven't taken one of the tests yet, make sure you get that done ASAP! ACT/SAT scores are vital if you're interested in any sort of academic scholarship, so keep on churning out as many scores as you can!
  2. Have you decided on your school yet? It's okay if you haven't, but keep in mind that many universities, including South, have important deadlines for the Fall semester to keep track of. For example, at South, things like Housing and Southbound Orientation are done on a first-come, first-serve basis; the longer you make a decision, the smaller your pool of options shrinks.
  3. What about housing? Are you living on or off campus? This is something you should be thinking about, even if you haven't chosen a school yet. The sooner you decide you want to live on campus or in an apartment separate from your current living situation, the longer you have to settle on leases and housing contracts, as well as shop for living necessities.
  4. Have you taken a campus tour yet? If you've read any of my other blogs, you'll know that I place great importance on campus tours. They're a succinct and easy way of finding out if a college is right for you and can really help you narrow down your choices. South's campus tours are offered year-round, Monday through Friday at 9 am, 11:30 am, and 2 pm. You can call 251-460-7834 for more details.
These are just a few questions to chew on as the new chapter of your life approaches. There's a lot to do in the coming months if you want to be prepared for college, so make sure you stay on top of things and keep an eye on important deadlines!

Until next time...
